Our recent adventures!

So, it's been awhile since we posted any pics, and, upon request from a certain Grandma, Jack has generously agreed to grace the electronic world with pictures of himself :). Here's a quick round-up of what we've been up to:

Came back to VA at the end of a great summer in CA and some time spent in MT and UT
Mike started his 3rd (and final!) year of law school
Jack continues to try to walk (he holds onto our hands and legs as he does it)
Jack actually started to crawl! Hallelujah! 13 months is the right timeframe for that, right??
I turned 27 and am now officially in my later twenties, according to Mikey

We also went to the Outer Banks, NC for Mike's fall break and stayed in this massive 12-bedroom house with a bunch of other families and law students. It was so awesome to be just a few minutes walk from the beach and to be with so many friends. It would have been even more fun had Jack not been sick the whole time! When we got back to town we took him to the doctor, who concluded that it was most likely swine flu. That's right, you want swine flu, we got it! Jack took about 6 days to run through it, and Mike has had it for 8-9 days now and is still recovering. Somehow, Ms. Weak Immune System here has avoided it altogether. Not sure how that happened . . . maybe all of the vitamins in the salads I eat?? Good karma for who knows what?? Still crossing my fingers :). Anyway, the Outer Banks (OBX) is beautiful and looks just like something out of a Nicholas Sparks novel-made-movie. The colors and water and animals and plant life were so different than the west coast and even more different than other times I've been to the Atlantic. It was so cool!

There's truly not much else going on with us :). Oh, Jack's getting hair! Hopefully you can see it in some of the pictures (if it's in the right light and the moon is full and the UVA football team is on a winning streak . . ). He's been a really good boy lately and sleeping pretty well and trying so hard to walk and do new things. He thinks everything is a phone and puts it up to his ear and "talks." He uses his exersaucer as a walker and goes all over the kitchen, reveling in the ability to open and shut the cabinet doors and knocking on the dishwasher and oven and anything else he can get his grimy little knuckles on!
